1) University of California, Berkeley
UC Berkeley is a public research university in Berkeley, California. It is one of the ten campuses of the University of California system and was founded in 1868. UC Berkeley is renowned for pioneering a number of innovations including being home to the first computer science department and founding an entire field – ethology – which deals with animal behavior and social organization.
UC Berkeley’s most famous alumnus is almost certainly former U.S. President, Barack Obama, who graduated from there with a degree in political science before going on to become a distinguished lecturer at the institution after his stint as president.
2) Stanford University
Stanford University is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in California. The school has an extensive list of notable alumni, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

3) Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is consistently ranked as one of the best universities in the world. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, it was founded in 1861 and has been educating students for over 150 years.
The institute is also home to some really impressive alumni, including eleven Nobel laureates and six Turing Award winners. MIT is a private research university with five schools focusing on engineering, humanities and social sciences, management, science and mathematics, architecture and urban planning. 4) Yale University
Yale University is a private Ivy League research university located in New Haven, Connecticut. Founded in 1701, it is one of the country's nine colonial colleges and one of its nine Ancient Eight institutions.

It is an unincorporated association organized by two trusts: one established for Yale College (originally called Collegiate School), the other for Yale University (formerly called Collegiate Institute).
5) Princeton University
Princeton University is a private, Ivy League university located in Princeton, New Jersey. Established in 1746, Princeton is one of the oldest universities in America. It has been ranked first among American universities by U.S. News & World Report for 22 consecutive years and was named the world's number one school by Forbes magazine in 2008.
The university is home to six schools including the undergraduate College, Graduate School, and two professional schools: The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
